Family Time ~ This class becomes a multi-layered learning environment with the older children ready to show the little ones how it's done and the younger ones eager to learn. During each lesson, you will be introduced to basic musical concepts, and you will have the instruments, and the structured free time to put those concepts into play. Your children will listen to instruments and to each other, learn from their peers and older children, and enjoy music and movement with hoops, scarves and tumble-around play. All the activities encourage discovery and exploration and foster sharing and social skills too. In this special place for musical, social and emotional learning, your children will strengthen their ties with each other and with you—and they'll start developing the skills they'll need in school and on the neighborhood playground.  WHAT ELSE WE WILL DO AND WHY...

Movin' and Groovin'                     ODD FALL
Movin’ & Groovin’ is a romping, rolling, stretching good time for the whole family. This unit will explore lots of different ways to move - high and low, fast and slow, zigzag, curvy and more. Family members will chug around the classroom like trains, clip-clop like horses and roll over like puppy dogs.

The Home Materials include: two CDs with music from class; Sing, Play & Grow! a family guide with musical fun, activities and information about child development, as well as fun facts about the songs enjoyed in class; two sensory balls; two Jellybean Band books with activity pages, comic strips about the band and stories-Can You Catch Me? and Put Your Left Paw In.
Make Way for Music EVEN SPRING
Families will sing, dance and move their way through an exploration of several elements of music: beat and rhythm, concepts and contrasts (such as staccato and legato, high and low, the major scale, and arpeggios), the human voice, instrument families and ensemble. They’ll engage in developmentally appropriate activities that the whole family can enjoy together, including fingerplays, songs, circle dances, story time and family jam.

The Home Materials include: two CDs with music from class; Sing, Play & Grow! a family guide with musical fun, activities and information about child development, as well as fun facts about the songs enjoyed in class; two fingerdrums; two children’s storybooks (Drum Circle and Animals on Parade) and an instrument-matching board game.
Our Kind of Day                                       EVEN FALL
Our Kind of Day features music and activities which involve the five things that happen around your house: playtime, mealtime, clean-up time, bath time and nighttime.

The Home Materials include: two CDs with music from class; Sing, Play & Grow! a family guide with musical fun, activities and information about child development, as well as fun facts about the songs enjoyed in class; two double egg shaker instruments; two Jellybean Band books with activity pages, comic strips about the band and stories-Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and Bouncing On the Bed.
Here, There, Everywhere                  ODD SPRING
The five sub-themes center around different family outings: a visit with a friend, an outing at the park, a trip to the city, an afternoon at the aquarium and a day on the farm.  The story Flip-Flap, Sugar Snap! is all about moving like animals and Jingle-Jangle Jambourine is about following a girl who has lost her jambourine during the day's outings (to the very same places visited in the curriculum - what a coincidence!) as she looks for it, finding at home at the end of the story.

At Home Materials include: two CDs with music from class; Sing, Play & Grow! a family guide with musical fun, activities and information about child development, as well as fun facts about the songs enjoyed in class; two jambourines to enjoy in the classroom and at home-one green and one purple; two Jellybean Band books with activity pages, comic strips about the band and stories-Flip-Flap, Sugar Snap! and Jingle-Jangle Jambourine.
Wonderful class! We were very happy with the class and Miss Lori. She's an energetic and engaging teacher- -both my boys (8 months and almost 3) loved their "music class."
We still listen to the songs daily. ~ Liana M.
More QUOTES from parents
Family Time is a great option for
children up to 6 years.
Activities are geared towards toddlers/preschoolers but great fun for younger and older with their caregiver/s
It is very much like Our Time
with a bit of Village & Imagine That tossed in.
