Kindermusik has given my son so many wonderful skills and tools that he will continue to use throughout his life in addition to the music experience, which I feel supasses any other music program I have seen. It also continues to be the highlight of his week after 5 years of classes. ~Kami L.

My child has a keen interest in music and the class offers him an environment in which to explore that interest through a variety of means. I did not have the knowledge to provide the many ways that music and fun are pursued in the class. My older child took Kindermusik with Lori Burkhardt. Today he plays percussion in his middle school band and has played in several middle school honors bands. What he learned in Kindermusik was planted in the back of his brain and never left. The instructor is the key. I have known several folks attending Kindermusik who have not had as good of an experience. Lori is great. My younger child studies with her now. ~Michelle & Paul B.

Kindermusik offers a simple friendly forum introducing the child to basic concepts for group participation ... and, as a grandparent, I find it a fun one-on-one time. (didn't leave name)

Lori Burkhardt is very good and so positive. We learn sharing, music, following the rules, and how to cooperate in a group and have lots of fun doing it. They also have to listen and look at a book together. The short rest time is very valuable in learning to hold our bodies still as well as being active during the dancing and moving parts. It is a very worth while program for young children. So much is done in such a

Lori does a great job with the diversity of children/parents and their needs. Consistency and exposure to different music/dance/beat and rhythmns is fantastic training to help kids focus and have fun at the same time.

I think Kindermusik is a great way to begin to learn movement, rhythm and music appreciation. It is important to me that my child learn these things and even better from an early age. My son loves the classes! He looks forward to each of them and replies "YES" very enthusiastically when I ask if he wants to go to music class with Ms. Lori. He also loves the music from the cds that were given as part of the materials and requests to listen to them many many times every day. He sings along and makes the hand moves that go along with them. Overall, I find that the classes and materials are very well-designed for children this age. I am very happy and pleased to see my son so happy and joyful! :) ~Yari M.

We loved Ms. Lori. She was very accepting of every child's personality. Her love for music also showed and radiated throughout the activities. My children loved the class, wanted to sing the songs, and came home immediately talking about the class to my spouse. They are constantly singing the songs they learned. I have never had them do that with any other class they have taken. It was an amazing experience not only was the class fun but it was amazing how much the children learned. I loved that it exposed them to different instruments and vocabulary that they are interested in. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Ms. Lori and Kindermusik!!!!! ~Jessica E.

After being involved in Kindermusik with our grandchildren, we've seen how much they value their time in their "music class". Not only does it provide a source of learning, but carries over in their play time at home. One or the other is constantly initiating a "music class" scenario where one is Miss Lori, the other a class participant. They look forward to their day for Kindermusik and can't wait for the next session to begin in the fall. ~Charlotte S.

I just wanted to write you an email at this moment, as I am hearing one of the sweetest sounds ever...... There is no TV on in the house and what I hear happening in the foyer is my two toddlers (2 girl, 4 boy), initiating their own game of "music class." They are sitting down on the rug, singing the welcome song, just as they do in class. They are, one by one, singing the 'Welcome to my Backyard' songs, getting instruments out to accompany each song (we added our own scarves and extra instruments to the bag), then they sing, "scarves a-way," etc. It is so funny. What I am so pleased about is that they would rather be playing with music, leading one another in activities, using their imaginations, than just sitting watching TV. Don't get me wrong, we do watch TV in the house, but it is refreshing to see how much they enjoy music and how it is furthering their development. A note about the next comment: the older sister is 7 yrs and completed two years of Young Child and is her younger brother's grown-up during Our Time. Little sister is two. The brother is five and has been diagnosed with PDD. Little sister and brother have enrolled for the first time this Fall 2010, both in Our Time. This is the feedback from mom. Just makes me so happy. To me, this is MUSIC doing it's best, referring to a quote from my music therapy days..."it is not just the doing, it is the doing together."
Just thought I'd write with a news from the household. The past two days, our boy who rarely initiates conversation or a game, led me and the girls, actually INVITED us to another room, to have "class," where he proceeded to lead us in songs, hand out towels (in lieu of scarves or shakers) and pretty much took us through "Our Time" acting as YOU! He even turned out one light for resting, counted to three to turn the lights back on, would prompt every change with "come on guys!" which is a variation from how you do it, and got the House storybook and pointed out the kangaroo. Perhaps we can get him to memorize the rhyme you emailed about the kangaroo?? Anyway, it was so amusing and such a great change to see in him!! Older sister humored him with my prodding, and giggled through a lot of it, but I don't think she realizes how great it is to see him speakingwithout being prompted, and imitating in a somewhat typical way, and remembering and enjoying music class obviously!! He even had me hang up a hand-drawn hammer and saw (he calls it a shovel, I don't know why) on his bedroom wall. So thank you!!!! He's really benefiting, so I really appreciate that you made an exception for all my kids to come to class together!! ~ Lisa D

So our 5.5 year old, Stevie, has been going to Kindermusik for over a year and we had a pretty amazing event tonight...his 3.5 year old sister was doing a funny little dance routine and Stevie seemed itchy to be involved so I suggested that he grab an instrument from his little bin...he selected a toy flute and played the melody (not tone) to many songs to include some real subtleties, some from memory and some along with the song - we could not believe our eyes/ears! Stevie always wants music on (home, car) and loves the class. His development in Kindergarten has been really super and we just thank you, Lori, for your great class and your passion for music with our little ones! ~ Amy & Paul P.

If you’re searching for a good music class for your baby, toddler, preschooler, or kindergartner, you probably won’t go wrong with Kindermusik. My daughter, Gracie, went to her first 'Imagine That' class & that was all she needed to unlock the door to her imagination! She is 3 1/2 & she loves it! She sings with the songs on the CD, asks to play "Katie" in Grasshopper Park & looks so forward to seeing Ms. Lori at Kindermusik. The best part is that it really gave her permission to pretend with other children & with grown ups. Before this class, she may emulate something I would say to her - to her doll at nap-time. Now she will participate playing dollhouse or pretending to have a birthday party with other children at the park, rather than only parallel play. I'm so glad we made the decision to enroll her in this class. Ms. Lori Burkhardt is phenomenal at what she does.

I showed a video of Adrian’s solo performance in his last class [Young Child 4] with you in the Spring to one of his SLPs (whose worked with him since preschool). After viewing the video—the SLP said—that’s a VERY SPECIAL teacher. Of course I agreed—but, I asked how. She came to that conclusion when she only saw the back or your head in the video. She said—“Because she saw Adrian for who he is.” ~Pam M

I am so happy we are able to take this class. Thank you so much for all that you do for our children. I don't think I say that enough. I am super impressed by the program. Isabella went from lap baby to crawling to standing to almost walking in a matter of months. When I say stop, she stops; listen, she listens. It really is amazing what this program teaches. Isabella is really interested in music and musical instruments. She dances to the CD's with me while she shakes her egg shakers or bells. The biggest and greatest lesson is when I say Mommy needs a quiet time. I turn off the light and play soft music and I am able to go sit in a chair while she quietly plays. Occasionally she even lays down with me and we can calm down. It is a wonderful prelude to nap time or when she falls and needs to calm down or even just when we need a short break.
I would highly recommend Kindermusik with Lori Burkhardt to anyone. Isabella loves you and is a bit enamored by you. I wouldn't know how to cope this summer without you."
